What a site where hunters can share pics and tell the tails of their hunting trips. Im looking forward to geting to know all of you and the experances you all have had.

I hunt in the Big Bend area of Texas where there are white tail and mule deer. I find the desert mule deer to be more of a challange to hunt, when compared to it's close friend the white tail. mule deer range for miles and are harder to pattern when water and food sources are dry and far between. The act of feeding corn has little sucess, because mule deer tend to founder when they have eatin corn. The big mules can be found in the late part of the three week season, moveing from water source with any where from four to ten does. The shot can be anywhere from ten feet to 600 yards, a good scope and high brass round is idea for the long distance and high winds.

I hunt in NE Lousiana. We don't have many mule deer but we had one of the best years in a long time this season! 3200 acres, average of 13 members hunt our lease during deer season and 45 deer were taken during gun season, 25 being bucks 8 pts or higher...I myself got 3 (2 doe and 1 mature 8 pt). Good luck to every1! Look fwd to using this forum!

You're right about this neat and interesting website. It's also true what you say about the nature of mule deer hunting in far West Texas.
